A series of Collections inspired by my childhood home in Roxbury, New York - deep in the heart of the Catskill Mountains. An abundance of wildflowers that brings me to my knees. Walking barefoot on soft green moss, stepping stones, fly fishing on the banks of the Delaware River. Picnics on day hikes over mountains and rock ledges. Snow angels and sugar cookies. Ahhhh ... the "simple" life.

My childhood memories would not be complete without the mention of Christmas in the Catskill Mountains. Soooo many memories! This initial collectin is only just the beginning ... starting with Christmas cookies and snow people. Much more to come! (to see more Christmas designs click here)
Songbirds are plentiful in my childhood home in the Catskill Mountains. The Bible reminds us that His eye is on the sparrow ... they never go hungry! And ohhhh - the wild berries you can feast on in those mountains! This mini collection celebrates the multitude of birds and their babies, their colorful eggs and nests, and the berries they feast upon. (To see More Birds & Berries designs click here)
Wildflowers bring me to my knees! So many wildflower memories take me back to Roxbury in the Catskill Mountains. Flashbacks include using "paint" from Milkweed pods, making Daisy chains, and rescuing Johnny Jump-ups from the forest. We gathered bouquets of wild phlox near an old wooden bridge for Children's Sunday at church. Have you ever tasted fiddlehead ferns? Have you held a Buttercup under your chin to see if you like butter? I guess I do... (To see more Field Flowers designs, click here)
My brother Ernie loved bugs! Legend has it, the word “bug” was his very first word. I dedicate this mini-collection to his memory. We played with pill bugs, caught lightning bugs in mason jars ... and once he caught a HUGE fishing spider and chased me with it, giving me nightmares for years to come. (He’s to blame for my lifelong fear of spiders! So, you won’t find one of these in my collection - ha!) Nonetheless, a glorious variety of colorful bugs can be found in the Catskills, including the Mayfly that inspires the “fly” used for fly fishing. (To see more Glorified Bugs designs, click here.)
Remember Grandma's kitchen? It was all about comfort food, fixing meals from family recipes and trying out new ones, baking together and wearing hand-embroidered gingham aprons. Sometimes, those “trials” were not so successful. My friend, Dawn & I made our first homemade cake from “scratch:” an almond joy cake. We set it out on the front porch to cool while we went ice skating on the pond in front of my house. When we came back inside to ice the cake we discovered a big piece missing, the rest of it nailed to the wall, hard as a rock. True story.
(My dad had a great sense of humor ...!) Sigh. This collection begins with the Italian dishes. (Adding more soon!) (To see more Comfy Kitchen designs, click here.)
